Finding percentages of a number
Here is a great way to challenge yourself to become more confident at finding a percentage of a number. Click on the image to go to the activity. You can move the arrow on the number line to get a new percentage and enter the quantity you think in the box below. The great thing about this is you can try it out at a level best for you and then, as you become more confident, explore some more challenging percentages.

Missing multiples
Here’s the multipliers game we tried this week which got our brains going! Click on the image to go to the NRICH site where the game is. Challenge yourself to see how few tiles you need to open to find the multiplier headings. Is there a good strategy when you are choosing the position of the tiles you open first? We were beginning to develop a thought that opening the four diagonals was a good idea… is that right? Are there any numbers that you think would be especially useful to find on one of the tiles? Why?
If you have any thoughts about the game and your ideas on it. Post a comment to explain your ideas and help others think about it.
